This study aims to investigate the impact of delivering timely breastfeeding information during antenatal care on breastfeeding drop off rate at 6-8 weeks. It is a development of a previous pilot study which showed encouraging results and will be conducted in West Lothian. It will take the form of co-production action research, with input from a wide range of health professionals and service users to develop a study that is as pertinent, inclusive and user-friendly as possible. This work is funded by the Scottish Government Chief Scientist Office (Reference number HIPS/21/49) and has received NHS ethical approval (Reference number 22/WM/0168).
